Musette Catalana

A less familiar tune, but a rewarding one to learn from. It was written by the Dutch composer Fried Manders and originally performed on accordion – and like many accordion waltzes and musettes, it translates to guitar remarkably well.

After a vibrant melody, the improvisations are played over a hypnotic groove, making this one of the few modal harmonies in the genre: one chord, one mode, all the room in the world. A lot of fun to learn and to jam on. Take your time with the rhythm guitar part as well; getting that right is half the song.
